August Selection: "Reeling for the Empire" by Karen Russell

"Reeling for the Empire" is found in her collection of short stories titled Vampire in the Lemon Grove. Karen Russell's debut novel, Swamplandia!, was a finalist for the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. She was also the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation "Genius Grant" in 2013.
