About this event
Case studies will focus on two respiratory viruses causing major public health problems, influenza and COVID-19. These viruses change frequently, with new strains sometimes escaping immunity. Vaccination to protect against these diseases will be discussed. This talk is intended to provide an understanding of immunity to viruses.
Speaker Information
Until her retirement in 2023, Suzanne Epstein had a long career at the FDA, mainly in the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. As a principal investigator at the Center, Suzanne directed a research lab in immunology. She holds a PhD in biology and completed her postdoctoral work at the National Institutes of Health.
