Spectacular Birding in Bulgaria & Greece: A Stunning Photo Travelogue

with Suzanne Dater

Thursday, August 24, 1:00-2:30 pm

Tour Greece and Bulgaria to search for spectacular, rare birds in their natural habitats with Suzanne Dater as your expert guide. See spotted nutcrackers squaring off on Vitosha Mountain in Sofia, Bulgaria. Then on to the volcanic landscapes of the Rhodope Mountains—some of the best landscapes in Europe for finding birds of prey. View griffon vultures feeding in numbers. Continue onward to northern Greece to view stunning Dalmatian pelicans—the largest flying land birds in the world—animating Lake Kerkini and the sky above. Enjoy Suzanne’s stunning photos of these and many other birds from a photo safari tour she took in January 2020.

Suzanne is a world traveler and worked at the Organization of American States. Following retirement, she studied photography to record her travels to every continent. Her photographs are on cards and books of the World Wildlife Fund, and she received the Gold Five Star Award from the NIH Camera Club. She previously served on the board of the Montgomery County Bird Club and currently is on the boards of the NIH Camera Club and the Sumner Garden Club. Suzanne is an active member and volunteer of Little Falls Village and an experienced travelogue presenter.
