Are you aging alone? Seeking guidance and support? This award-wining online program developed by Iona Services is valuable for anyone wanting to age-in-place successfully. It is especially oriented to those who are aging on their own. Learn how to be your own best advocate in the years ahead and understand the steps you should take to build a rich life. Early planning is crucial to maintain choice, independence, and satisfaction throughout life. This means planning so that your home, finances, medical team, and social community are set up for aging well.
This course will give you tools to help you make aging-in-place decisions and implement them. Each participant will receive a handbook (PDF) with a planner, reflection questions, resources and helpful discussion of aging-related topics. Homework in the handbook will be assigned.
At each of the 6 sessions, participants will discuss topics and watch a video featuring experts in aging.
Margaret Newman, Care Manager for Corewood Care and former Executive Director of Friendship Heights Neighbors Network, will facilitate this special program. Margaret Warker, Operations Director of Little Falls Village, will co-facilitate. This program is being sponsored by Corewood Care: Home Care & Care Management Services.
