About this event
The National Museum of Asian Art (Freer and Sackler Galleries), Nature in the Arts of Asia: Birds, March 25, 10:30-11:30 am.
Coinciding with the start of Spring, the harbingers of the season, will be the focus of this NMAA on-line art docent program. Birds have inspired and enchanted artists across all periods and all cultures. In Japan, early Spring arrives in February with the blossoming of the Plum trees and the activity of the Japanese White-eye and Brown-eared bulbul as they sip the plum blossom nectar. Birds are represented in works from the 12th to the 19th centuries, from Iraq to Japan, and in a range of media and formats: illustrated books; ceramics; and paintings on paper and silk intended for scrolls, screens, doors, and fans. Tour is for FHNN and Little Falls Village members and volunteers only and is part of a collaboration between FHNN and LFV.
Collaboration between Little Falls Village & Friendship Heights Neighbors Network.
ZOOM DOCENT TOUR: SPACE IS LIMITED.
TOUR IS FOR LFV AND FHNN MEMBERS & VOLUNTEERS ONLY. The Zoom login information will be sent to confirmed registrants.
