Bonsai: What’s The Big Excitement About These Tiny Trees?

Explore the art of Bonsai, its beginnings in ancient China, the trees’ valuable role in international diplomacy, and more. With Ann McClellan as your expert guide, discover the collections at the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum, located in the U.S. National Arboretum. Enjoy images of diminutive treesexpressions of a living art form that has captivated people for more than a thousand years. Learn about experts devoted to the art of bonsai design.

Ann is the author of Bonsai and Penjing: Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty. She has also written two books on cherry blossoms, including the Official Book of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Among her many achievements, Ann is the recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays from the Government of Japan for her “exemplary contributions to promoting mutual understanding between Japan and the United States…”
