About this event
"Gun Control and The Supreme Court" with Bert Foer
Wednesday April 27, 1 pm EST
Gun violence in the US continues to surge. Homicides, which rose by about 30 percent in 2020, recorded another rise in 2021. At least twelve major American cities set homicide records. The Supreme Court has heard arguments and will shortly issue its opinion in a New York case that is widely expected to make the control of guns in urban areas (yes, and elsewhere) even more difficult.
Bert Foer (’07) has followed the gun history as a board member of the Violence Policy Center. He will provide historic background as well as commentary on the anticipated decision.
This event is a collaboration with COFFE (Council of Former Federal Executives & Associates).
