"Personal Property: Things to Know About Valuing, Keeping, Tossing, and Selling"
Description: “Stuff” as we all know it is known formally as tangible personal property. These items of personal property are the things that reflect a person’s life story. Some are purchased, some are gifted, some are made, and some are inherited. Regardless of how they came into your life, they tell your history or your herstory. Whether items are ordinary, exceptional, fine, valuable, or everyday, they have a financial, emotional, or usefulness value. Daniel Sanders, the President and CEO of Four Sales Ltd, will spend some time with us to explore personal property and how to value it, how to determine whether to keep or toss it, and finally how to go about selling, donating, or disposing of it.
Four Sales, Ltd., founded in 1972, is the leading and most innovative estate sales company in the Washington metropolitan area. During the past 50 years, Four Sales has conducted and represented over 5,000 clients in the Greater DC-Metro Area and conduct an average of approximately 150 sales events per year. These sales include onsite estate sale and auction events and are conducted in small, large, and historic homes, as well as condominiums and townhouses, in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and sometimes West Virginia. In addition, Four Sales has standing relationships with well-known auction houses around the country for the brokered sale of high value items. We pride ourselves on serving our clients with compassion and professionalism while offering our customers a pleasant shopping experience.
Daniel Sanders has run Four Sales for more than 16 years after taking over from the founders after 34 years. He brings more than 15 years of international business operations experience to Four Sales Ltd. In the 1990’s, Sanders worked for 3M in Europe, and, after returning to the United States, Daniel worked with start-up businesses in the United States and Canada before accepting the challenge of running operations, sales, marketing, and brand management for Four Sales.
