Vegan Cooking Demonstration

with Erin DeMarines

Thursday, January 12, 1 pm-2:30 pm

Is your diet hurting you? Does it hurt the climate? As a 20-year vegetarian cook and the executive director of Sustainable Earth Eating (SEE), a Maryland-based non-profit, Jane DeMarines (shown at right) seeks to spread awareness about what we can do and eat to help the planet's health and our own. Jane wants to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by educating the public about the impact of meat consumption. Jane was the founding Executive Director of National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations, rewriting legislation and working with key U.S. House and Senate staff to advance a “Green Policy” agenda. Her previous work experience includes helping the Department of Homeland Security's Inspector General to produce reports on climate change.
